Braveheart - by Anne

I think it is a good movie, because there is a lot of excitement in. But it is also a little bit long-drawn-out movie.

Braveheart

I think this is a good film, and you can see that resistance can help but you shall go far, and William should die for freedom. He started the scots fight for freedom, and after he died there were still people whose fight for it. Made by Kia..

Braveheart

9. I think that the film was good, but it had an unhappy ending.

Braveheart: Michela og Helene

Braveheart is a good movie, but it's not a movie i'll see if i was together whith somone.

Braveheart

I really like the movie. I cried a LOT at the ending. It is so sad that he dies. But it is a good movie. It is well done by Mel Gibson.
Yes I actually did know that. The film has won five Oscars.
I think the scene where he is being tortured is the most moving. It is so sad that he dies and all he wants is freedom. By the way I like that Murron appears.

Review of Braveheart

Braveheart is about a Scottish man called William Wallace. He fights for freedom, the freedom of his country. The thing that made him start fighting was the murder of his wife, she was killed by the English soldiers. William is a strong man, and he fights till the end.
I really like this movie. I think it has some really great themes, war, love and history. You learn a lot from it, which I like, because it isn’t in a boring way. The movie contains a lot of blood, so if you are a bit squeamish, then there are some parts where you probably will need to close your eyes.
I give Braveheart 4 out of 5 bagpipes. To get the last bagpipe it needs to not be so complicated, sometimes I didn’t know who the people on the screen were, and I got a bit confused.

A rewiew of the movie Braveheart.

Braveheart is a story of William Wallace, a famous scots freedom figther in the thirteenth century. England was under the rule of King Edward.
At the start of the movie, William's father and brother died, because the English Soldiers killed them. After the funeral, William's uncle are going to takeing care of him. When William grows up, he fight for Scotlands freedom.
In the meantime, William has met Murron. Murron is a woman from his past, who gave him a rose at the funeral. William and Murron meet each other again, and fall in love and getting marryed. But after some time after they are get marryed Murron are getting killed by a Soldier, and William fight for the freedom in Scotland. In the end of the movie William also died, but after that Scotland is a free country.

I think the movie is a little boring, but you also learn of it.
I will give the movie 3 bagpipes.

5/5 bagpipes

The movie was released in 1995. And I can’t imagine anything else, than it was the most spectacular movie, they had ever seen. The Movie is Directed by Mel Gibson, Produced by Mel Gibson, William Wallace the main character of the movie, is played by Mel Gibson. And I can’t say nothing else than it’s a stunning movie. It’s a love story, action and history all in one.
We’re back in the 1200, when the king Edward Longshank ruled England – and Scotland. William was a boy, whose father was killed. His uncle adopted him, and he traveled around Europe. When William grow up, he returned to Scotland, and he felt in love with a beautiful girl called Murron. They married in secret, because otherwise the English knights should have the bride the wedding night. One day some English men came to the village and, they tried to rape Murron, but William fought back, they caught Murron and executed her in front of the people. William became crazy, and he killed the English knight who did it, and his men. After this, William and the men of the village started a rebel army to fight against the England. It went good, and William and his now big army, freed Scotland, but it wasn’t enough, they fought England on their own ground, and William was a good commander, who could talk and fight. But one of his men, a noble betrayed him, and the King got him, and he was executed.
This movie got some great fighting scenes. One of William speeches is world known. Mel Gibson plays excellent and so does a lot of the other actors.
I think this movie is a must see.

School

Uniforms in school:
In many schools in England the children must wear uniforms. The boy’s uniforms are long grey or black trousers, white shirts, tie, sweater with school logo on (the color is the choice of the schools) and black shoes. The girl’s uniforms are the same as the boy’s, but they can wear skirts, and in the summer time they often wear summer dresses.
Years in school
All children between 5 and 16 year must go to school. After and before that the schools are optional.

They have a school system with four different school steps. The two of them are a must. The two schools steps are primary and secondary school. The two schools steps are from the ages of 5 to 16. After secondary school when you are in an age of 16 +, you can pick a colleges to went.

Many Englishmen goes to the pubs, which are very enjoyable.  The pub life has a rule, which is very tight. You must be 18 years to come inside.                                                                                                                       There are no waiters, at the pub.  The costumers have to order food and drinks, all by themselves. The difference between Danish and English food are huge. Most of their foods are from various cultures. Many People from different countries moves to England. After some years of living, their cultures of food become famous.   The British people are well- known about Fish and Chips.  Some food sells at the street, it can be eaten from a newspaper with salt and malt vinegar.

Two English specialties

Fish`n´chips

You will need:

Equipment:

A bowl
A sharp knife
A sifter
A cutting board
A whisk
A deep heavy bottom pan
A frying basket

4 pieces of Cod or Haddock 0.151 Kg each
1 sprig fresh parsley

For the batter:

1 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 cup beer

: christmas pudding, or plum duff/pudding

The plum pudding's association with Christmas goes back to the old England with the Roman Catholic church's Control that the "pudding should be made on the twenty-fifth Sunday after Trinity, that it be prepared with thirteen ingredients to represent Christ and the twelve apostles and that every family member stir it in turn from east to west to honour the Magi and their supposed journey in that direction"

Mrs Beeton's Christmas Pudding Recipe

ingredients
8 oz moist sugar (use soft brown )
8 oz chopped suet or modern day equivalent
8 oz sultanas cleaned
8 oz raisins halved and stoned
4 oz currants washed and dried
4 oz shredded mixed candied peel - Cut your own or use ready cut
4 oz of plain flour
4 oz breadcrumbs
2 oz almonds blanched and shredded
the grated rind of a 1 lemon
3 eggs
a salt spoonful of  nutmeg grated
half a teaspoon of salt
quarter pint of milk
1 small wineglassful of brandy (optional)
The school system:
Infant: 3-5 years old
Primary: 5-11 years old
Secondary: 11-16 years old
Six form colleges: 16 +.

Children between the ages of 5 and 16 must go to school, the average school class in primary school has 26 students.
England has government-funded schools and private schools where the parents pay the fees.
Everyone in an English school, has to wear school uniforms, there are many arguments for and against school uniforms, most people say that uniforms save money, because parents don't have to spend a lot of money on designer labels and students don't tease each other for wearing the wrong clothes, but the reasons against school uniforms are that everyone look alike and the students lose their individuality, and they do not learn to deal with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Most of the English children go to state schools, while only 6% go to private schools, this might be because of the school fees are very expensive, the average cost for a child at a private school, £6000 per year, which is almost the same as 53.000 DKK, and the cost of a year at boarding school is about double the amount.

The most famous universities in England are Oxford and Cambridge, they have always attracted the best brains, and a degree from one of these universities can open many doors in life.
Sport plays a very important part of university life, and there are many competitions between the universities.
Traditionally, the Oxford teams wear dark blue and Cambridge wear light blue clothes, the media covers several of these sports events.

Sport in England

Sports
England has some great sports stars - and teams, they have some of the best football teams in the world for ex: Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool etc. They have other great sportsmen too, for example Wayne Rooney and David Bechham (football players), Euan Burton (judo), Mark Cueto (rugby). They are also the inventors of cricket; England was terrified when they lost to Australia in cricket in 1882, because they had always been the best.

Football and rugby are also English games. They are both some of the biggest sports in the world.
English competitors won a lot of world cups, world championships etc.

In England you can also see people playing lawn bowling, it’s not as famous. It’s mostly elderly people that play. It’s played in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.
